The problem
Solo tradespeople run on WhatsApp, a notebook, Excel and the photo gallery. Past work is hard to find, there is nothing professional to hand the customer, and month-end means rebuilding jobs from chats.
What I did
Researched the market, then designed and built the product: 16 phone journeys, the office calendar, the signed report and the design system, mirrored one to one in code and Figma.
The result
A v1 that had grown to 45,000 lines before any customer used it was replaced by the smallest product a solo worker would pay for.
Small on purpose.
Restart with the smallest product someone would pay for
The first version grew to eight roles and modules for inventory, billing and HR before a single pilot. The restart begins with one solo worker.

Only the customer’s name is required
A job can be saved with just a name. Without a time, it goes to “No time yet” to be planned later.

Work without signal, sign without signal
The phone shows a draft report offline; the final PDF is made after upload. The worker’s PIN is checked on the phone and again on the server.

- Basements, rooftops and villages have no signal. The visit can’t wait for it.
Colour only means job type
Repair is coral, service teal, installation violet. Amber only ever means “happening now”, and starting the clock is a slide, not a tap.

- A narrower palette for the brand.

- In the field, colour has to be read at a glance, and a stray tap must never start billing time.
